Instruments Station volunteers typically arrive by 8:30am* (*exact arrival time will be determined by the volunteer coordinator). After signing in, volunteers collect the Instruments Supply Kit and set up the station. They are responsible for assuring that the surgical stations are continually supplied with clean and sterilized instrument packs and towels.

The Instruments Cleaner cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments, masks, and launders the surgical towels.
The Instruments Packer assembles, wraps and labels complete instrument packs for the Pre-Prep, Spay and Neuter Stations and prepares hand towels for autoclaving.
The Instruments Transporter distributes buckets of warm soapy water to the surgical stations for disposal of used instruments, collects the used instruments and surgical towels throughout the duration of the clinic and processes laundry throughout the clinic day.
