Kitten Care Unit (KCU)
After signing in, Kitten Care Unit volunteers collect the KCU Supply Kit and complete the set-up of the Kitten Care Unit without delay, so that the station is ready when kittens arrive. The smallest of our patients benefit from close monitoring and special handling by KCU volunteers.
At least a week before the clinic, our volunteer coordinator notifies volunteers of their scheduled arrival times.
Every station has a designated Captain who will oversee the station and field questions and non-urgent problems.

|Kitten Recovery Monitor*||1 per 5 kittens||1 per 5 kittens|
* Position requires rabies vaccination.
The Kitten Ambassadors monitor the progress of all kittens through the clinic to ensure priority handling and the careful treatment, monitoring, and express service they require. The goal is to minimize time under anesthesia for kittens or any cat weighing 4 pounds or less and for these patients to recover in a warm environment.
