Recovery Station volunteers arrive by 8:00am. After signing in, volunteers collect the Recovery Supply Kit and set up the station. The Recovery Station volunteers oversee the safe, sanitary and secure post-operative care and transport of each cat.
If an infectious cat (URI, ringworm or other infectious condition) is inadvertently handled during the flow of healthy cats through the clinic, all station staff must change their gloves, and the table drapes must be replaced before handling or treating healthy cats.
Station Staffing Requirements
|Recovery Trap Manager||1||2|
The Trap Manager cleans the traps after the cats have been removed at the Anesthesia Station, organizes the sanitized traps in preparation for the cat’s return, and delivers the traps to the Recovery Transporter as needed.
The Recovery Monitor observes the cats closely as they wake from anesthesia and alerts a veterinarian, if a cat exhibits any problems that need medical attention.
The Recovery Transporter organizes the traps, places cats arriving from the Clinic Records Station in their corresponding traps and transports the cats to the Recovery Station for monitoring and to the Discharge Station when they are fully awake
