Every cat must have a reservation for Catnip Sunday Clinics and for any of our other clinic opportunities. To qualify, the cat(s) must be unowned, and from Alachua County. We will accept some cats from our neighboring rural region with a copay. Sorry, but pet cats are not eligible for our spay-neuter service.
Making a Reservation
Clinic reservations may be made by phone or by email. Email is the most efficient method of communication. Our phones are not answered by staff and you must leave a message. It may take 48 hours to return calls. Emails are answered quickly.
When you make a reservation, we will need the following information:
- Phone number
- Email address
- Number of reservations you’re requesting, i.e., how many cats you’d like to bring
- Your address
- Address where the cats live
If you have your own traps that have previously been approved by our staff and have a current approval sticker, we will confirm your address and the address where you are trapping when you make your reservation. To ensure the safety of cats, caregivers and volunteers, all personal traps must be brought to the Operation Catnip office for approval prior to use in any Operation Catnip program.
If you are borrowing traps, we will collect your address when you pick up your loaner traps. When you make your reservation, we will give you additional information and answer your questions to make your Operation Catnip experience pleasant for you and safe for your cats.
Note: We offer a Targeted Community Cat Program through partner clinics and during our Surgical Capacity Building Clinics. Please contact Operation Catnip during our regular office hours for more information.
Clinic Reservation Verification
When you arrive at the clinic, you will be asked to complete a Caregiver Release Form, and we will verify your name and the number of reservations requested with our reservations list. If you are transporting cats for another individual, please confirm with them the name under which the reservations were made.
We often have more requests for reservations than slots, so if you need to cancel or reduce the number of reservations, please contact us as soon as possible. Caregivers who are repeat “no-shows” may lose their clinic privileges for Catnip Sunday clinics.
